The Hills Are Alive! You Will See Why During This Performance of The Sound of Music
The hills are alive! A brand-new production of The Sound of Music is coming to Aggieland this November. The beloved musical will once again thrill audiences with its Tony, Grammy and Academy Award winning score, including “My Favorite Things,” “Edelweiss,” and the title song. You’ll definitely want to get your tickets for this all-ages event!
The musical tells the story of Maria, who takes a job as governess to a large family while she decides whether to become a nun. She falls in love with the children and their widowed father, Captain von Trapp. He is ordered to accept a commission in the German Navy, but he opposes the Nazis. So begins the von Trapp family’s daring escape from Austria.
The Sound of Music enjoyed extraordinary success as a live television production when “The Sound of Music Live!” aired on NBC in December 2013 and was seen by over 44 million people. 2015 marked the 50th anniversary of the film version, which continues to be the most successful movie musical in history.
