Charles Berthoud is one of the most exciting and versatile new bass players on the world stage. As a soloist, he is recognized as one of the masters of the two-handed tapping technique, which allows him to accompany himself like a pianist on his bass. Don’t miss out on the chance to witness him performing live at Texas A&M University on Monday, April 15th!
Charles has performed at prestigious venues such as The Palace Theater in Manchester, NH, and Agganis Arena in Boston, MA. Audiences are always moved by his music and blown away by his world-class virtuosity. Charles has conducted clinics and workshops at notable institutions such as Berklee College of Music and New Hampshire Bass Fest.
He has published an instructional book, "Two-Handed Tapping", with Berklee professor, Jim Stinnett, and has won awards such as 1st place at the New Hampshire Bass Solo Competition. His music can be found on YouTube, and his CD, "The New Age of Solo Bass", is available on iTunes. Charles also plays in groups such as "Cat and the Moon" and "Rising Lions".
The culture at A&M-Texarkana is one of community, and you will feel that community spirit the day you step on campus. We hope that you join us for this fun performance while you can!
